About Us!

Opening  November 2019, Paradise Paws Camp & Resort offers kennel-free boarding, daycare and full-service grooming.  Located minutes from Madison, in Windsor, WI, our mission is to provide a stress-free, safe and loving environment for your pet.  Staffed 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, regardless of weather, we have over 9,000 sq. ft. of indoor play space for your pup, and 6 large securely fenced outdoor play areas.

Karen Schultz, the owner, has a history of working with dogs prior to opening Paradise Paws.  She established Key to Happiness Rescue, a non-profit rescue that successfully placed over 3,000 homeless dogs into permanent homes.  In addition, she is active in trapping loose and lost dogs and continues to help local animal shelters and rescues.  Her love of animals has carried over into her day-to-day operations to ensure all animals in our care are safe, happy and loved.

Ensuring the safety and well-being of the dogs in our care, staff undergoes rigorous training.  All staff is certified in Dog Body Language, Group Management, and Canine Health, in addition to a minimum 40-hours of one-on-one training with the dogs before they are allowed to supervise groups on their own.

For daycare, dogs are placed in groups (approximately 5-6 groups per day) based on size, energy, level, and play style.  Our staff ratio is 1 employee per 15-18 dogs.  For small dogs, the ratio is 1 employee per 25-30 dogs.  The lower group numbers allow staff to closely monitor appropriate play. Staff is REQUIRED to stay in group and never leave dogs unattended for their safety.

Our Grooming team both graduated from grooming school and work on one dog at a time, which decreases stress levels and provides individualized care.

We promise to provide a quality, clean, and safe atmosphere for your pup of any age. We are committed to ensuring each animal is loved and comfortable the minute they walk through our doors. There is a reason this is "paradise." The happiness and safety of your pup is our priority, and our like-home environment is nothing like you have seen in this area.
